The Social Fund of Development Yemen (SFD) was established in 1997 as an administratively and financially autonomous agency.

SFD aims to improve the living conditions of impoverished groups through increasing access to basic services, supporting income generation activities and generating job opportunities through the implementation of labor-intensive work.
